Embedded Software Engineer

Work with a dedicated product development team to architect and design state of the art battery powered wireless systems for Smart Energy, Medical and consumer applications. Candidate must be a HIGHLY motivated self-starter able to multitask numerous projects in a dynamic environment. Here is your chance to work with a top team of firmware, electrical, mechanical and RF engineers at one of San Diego's 100 fastest growing private companies.

Primary Activities:
Responsibility for all phases of embedded device software development. This typically involves developing and testing device side “C” code stored in flash memory, host side software written in “C” and “C++” for Microsoft Windows, Apple App in Objective C under iOS and Java code for Android. Embedded device responsibility includes managing limited device resources such as small on-board memory, low processor performance and power consumption while implementing various sensor related algorithms. Frequently no RTOS is used and tight integration with device hardware is needed. Typical embedded device is battery-powered, small size, includes SOC, various sensors and wireless communication. Supported development environments vary depends on actual MCU used. Some currently used IDEs are Keil, Code Warrior and IAR. Familiarity with basic hardware schematics and bring-up is expected.

Requirements:
BSCS / BSEE MS preferred. 3-8 years actual coding experience Working with one or more of the following microprocessor families: Freescale S08 and Kinetis, Texas Instruments MSP430, Atmel, ST, Energy Micro and Renesas. Development experience in short range wireless design, sensor network or DSP experience a plus. Bluetooth, BLE, ZigBee, Z-Wave, 6LoWPAN, 802.15.4, 802.11, WiFi a plus Exposure to hardware - schematics and instruments, debugging with logic analyzer Programming with “C” is mandatory and will be tested. Programming with C++, Java, Objective C and Python is a plus. Security clearance a plus but not required. Exposure to customer support a plus

Embedded Software Engineer

3-8 years experience. Work in small, self-motivated teams developing the firmware support for our products. Projects include: Device Drivers (VxWorks, Linux, pSOS etc.) and BSP development (Linux, VxWorks). Be involved in all phases of software development from requirements definition to production release Work closely with Hardware design engineers to ensure the product design will be competitive, robust and meet product specifications.

Wireless design, sensor network or DSP experience a plus.
BSCS required, MSCS preferred.
Security clearance a plus but not required.
